Purpose
The current equipment is broken and out of
use, requiring replacement.
It is a requirement by law that the leisure centre has the
necessary equipment to comply with the Equality Act 2010, which
mandates accessibility for all users, including those with
disabilities.
Content
Following the existing pool hoist at Clacton
leisure centre becoming defective, there is an urgent requirement
to purchase a new hoist. An RFQ process was followed to obtain the
best value for money to proceed with the purchase of a new
hoist.
A) Tendring District Council is to enter into one-off purchase
order with Medaco, to purchase a portable pool hoist for Clacton
Leisure Centre, to enable disabled members to be able access the
pool safely. The cost of this item is £11,591.00.
B) The use of the Sport and Leisure revenue budget for this
procurement is aligned with the financial planning and governance
framework of Tendring District Council. Specifically, the
expenditure/this purchase will be drawn from the approved Revenue
Budget as set out in the General Fund Budget and Council Tax
report, which was formally adopted by Full Council during the
budget-setting process.
Alternative options considered
No effect on LGR due to this being a one-off
equipment purchase to replace existing faulty equipment.
