Purpose

The Sports and Leisure Department aim to offer
a high standard of facility for the local community with a
sustainable future. The current flooring is old, worn and lifting
and in need of replacement for hygiene and health and safety
reasons as well as to prevent any water damage in areas where the
floor is lifting, preserving the integrity of the floor.
This work will not only provide a better experience to users in the
community but also act as preventative maintenance and contribute
to health and safety of the facility to mitigate any future
incidents that may result in injury.

Content

A)To appoint and award MPC General Maintenance
Ltd the contract to replace the wet side flooring at Walton on the
Naze Lifestyles.
B)To enter into a contract with MPC General Maintenance Ltd to
replace the wet side flooring at Walton-on-the-Naze Lifestyles. The
contract value is up to £28,600 including a 10% buffer for
any unforeseen works that occur once the project commences.
C)Portfolio Holder for Finance

Alternative options considered

There will be no impact to LGR as the works
should be completed by the end of 2025/ beginning of 2026.
