Purpose

The Domestic Abuse Act 2021 introduced a new
statutory duty on local authorities, ensuring that all victims of
domestic abuse, including children, have access to safety and
support.
The MHCLG allocated funding to Local Authorities.
Funding awarded to Tendring District Council has been extended
until 31st March 2026 to continue their duties under the Domestic
Abuse Act 2021.

Content

Amendment: Funding received was from MHCLG and
not ECC as quoted in officer decision created on 23rd April
2025.
To accept the funding from MHCLG in order to enable Tendring
District Council to continue the Domestic Abuse service (as
required by the Domestic Abuse Act 2021) until the 31st March
2026.
