Purpose

At its meeting on 14 November 2025 Cabinet
approved the award of the Council’s waste contract from April
2026 onwards including putting in place the necessary budget to
fund the service and associated capital costs. The contract
includes the collection of additional dry recyclable material via
55 litre kerbside boxes that must be purchased directly by the
Council, along with the lids, for the contractor to deliver to
residents during September 2026.
The purchase of the containers is to be made by making a direct
contract award via the ESPO framework. Using a framework means that
value for money is assured and the supplier has in this instance
provided a further small discount on the framework price.
The total price is £443,100 including delivery to a location
in Clacton. This price is within the sum anticipated for this
purchase when the additional budget for the service was set.
