Purpose
The consideration of the complaint by the
Housing Ombudsman identified a service failing and as part of their
orders to the Council a payment in the sum identified was
considered appropriate.
Content
To authorise a payment in the sum of £50
to a complainant in accordance with an order from the Housing
Ombudsman due to a finding of failings by the Council in the case
concerned.
Alternative options considered
The non-payment of the proposed sum was
considered. However, this was discounted as compliance with Housing
Ombudsman orders involves adhering to the Complaint Handling Code,
which has been a statutory requirement on the Council from 1 April,
2024.
