Purpose
To seek approval
for unscheduled health and safety maintenance on several of the
Council’s car parks to maintain public safety and that the
car parks in question can remain open to the public.

To approved
prioritised maintenance works at a number
of carpark locations, namely:-
Bathhouse Meadow
overflow, Walton-on-the-Naze;
Wellesley Road,
Clacton-on-Sea; and
Church Road and
Station Road, Walton-on-the-Naze.
Reasons for the decision
A number of sites had been identified that required
priority attention, to address issues that could impact operational
safety, accessibility and service standards if left
unaddressed.
Alternative options considered
Not proceeding with
the prioritised maintenance would raise a
number of significant risks for the Council, including
reputational, loss of income and potential legal liabilities.
