Purpose

The Council has received a letter from the
MHCLG setting out details of a top up to the 2025/26 Homelessness
Prevention Grant being paid to all local housing authorities. This
decision is required in order to formally accept that
funding.

Content

To accept a top up to the Homelessness
Prevention Grant (HPG) for 2025/26 of £114,888.
The top up is in addition to the funding already received from
MHCLG for the HPG during 2025/26 and is only to be used for
homelessness prevention activities as set out in the grant
determination letter dated 2 January 2026.

Alternative options considered

This particular decision does not have any LGR
or devolution issues as it relates to funding for the current
financial year.
