Having considered
the Tendring District Local Plan – Preferred Options Draft,
presented to the Planning Policy and Local Plan Committee at its
meeting on 22.01.26 agrees, on behalf of Cabinet, to recommend to
Full Council that it be approved for six-weeks public consultation,
alongside the related Sustainability Appraisal (at Appendix 2),
Habitats Regulation Assessment (at Appendix 3) and other supporting
evidence (including those listed as background documents) in
accordance with Regulation 18 of the Town and Country Planning
(Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012 (as amended) and
Regulation 13 of the Environmental Assessment of Plans and
Programme Regulations.

Reasons for the decision

The Portfolio
Holder for Housing and Planning is responsible for:
 

(i)    Planning Policy and
Guidance such as Supplementary Planning Documents and Guidance

(ii)   Constructive liaison with
the Chairman of the Planning Committee and Chairman of the Planning
Policy and Local Plan Committee and

(iii)  has worked with the officers and
the Planning Policy and Local Plan Committee through the
preparation stage; and

(iv)  received detailed briefings and
provided oversight on behalf of Cabinet.
 

Alternative options considered

Not to support the
recommendation of the Planning Policy and Local Plan Committee at
its meeting on 22.01.26 has been discounted.  The Committee has overseen the process to date and
supports the Preferred Options Draft Local Plan being presented to
Full Council for approval for public consultation.
