To enter into an
updated Memorandum of Understanding agreement with Essex County
Council, for a Public Health Practitioner Post and provision of a
health grant up to March 2028 to promote health and wellbeing
priorities
 
To accept the
funding associated with the Memorandum of Understanding up to March
2028 (for 2026-2027 this funding is £23,606 for the Public
Health Practitioner post and £49,642 for the Health &
Wellbeing Grant, a total of £73,248).

Reasons for the decision

Signing the updated
Memorandum of Understanding and accepting the funding will support
the continued promotion of health and wellbeing priorities by
receiving funding for a post and to deliver associated work for a
longer confirmed period of time up to
March 2028.

Alternative options considered

To not sign the
updated Memorandum of Understanding and decline the offer of
funding for a longer period of time.
This would however mean that there would be less funding and
support for health and wellbeing priorities locally.
