Purpose
The Council has been providing funding for rough sleeper early intervention work since 2020. Since June 2020 funding has been awarded to Tendring District Council to help tackle the problems of rough sleeping found in the Tendring area, and we have taken unprecedented steps to support rough sleepers. This work has been undertaken in partnership with Anglia Care Trust who provide intensive support to clients who are sleeping rough and help them to find accommodation in the Tendring area, if this is their home area, or locating back to their home area if it is outside of the Tendring district.
The support offered also involves engaging with sofa surfers to prevent them getting into a position whereby they are sleeping rough.
