Purpose

In 2021, following a successful bid to Sport
England through the Local Delivery Pilot (LDP), £70,000 was
awarded for the provision of the Active Ageing Gym to go on land
adjacent to York Road Car Park, Holland on Sea.
The gym is designed to build strength and improve balance in those
who have had a fall, are at risk of a fall, or require
rehabilitation. The total cost of the project is
£75,000:

After a delay in the process to pass funding from Sport England
through Active Essex to Tendring District Council for a Capital
project, A new agreement via an award letter from Sport England,
was provided.
A report was submitted to Management Team on 17th October 2023 and
concurrences then were sought from the then Portfolio Holder for
Partnerships and the Portfolio Holder for Environment

Option 1 - To award the contract to Kompan Ltd
and enter into a contract for the provision and installation of
equipment for the Active Outdoor Gym
Option 2 - To not award the contract and leave the area without a
gym and return the awarded funds to Sport England.
