Car Parking fees in
Alpha Road Car Park, Birchington to be suspended on 6, 12, 20 &
27th December 2025.

Reasons for the decision

A number of local
authorities suspend their parking charges in the run up to
Christmas, in Thanet we offer free Saturday parking in all of our
main town centres all year round. The exception to that is
Birchington. This free Saturday parking is located in Mill Lane Car
Park - Margate, Harold Road Car Park - Cliftonville, St Peter's
Park Road Car Park - Broadstairs and Cannon Road Car Park -
Ramsgate.
 
Yearly since
December 2020 Birchington ward councillors have requested free
parking in the run up to Christmas.

Alternative options considered

The alternative to
not offer the free Saturday parking was rejected in order to
support the request from Birchington Councillors.
