About
The Audit Committee provides independent assurance to those in charge of governance regarding the council's risk management, internal controls, financial reporting, and annual governance arrangements. It oversees both internal and external audits to ensure effective assurance mechanisms are in place. The committee also offers independent assurance on the effectiveness of the control environment, including arrangements for value for money and fraud prevention.
