• An Assistant Safeguarding Manager has
requested a reduction in hours from 37 to 18.5 hours per week. The
Team Manager and Group Manager assess that the request can be
accommodated effectively without a significant impact on service
delivery, if the current 37 hour post can be changed to two part
time positions i.e. two staff working 18.5 hours.
• The local authority should be able to recruit to an 18.5
hour post. This view is based on the previous volume of applicants
for this post when advertised previously, albeit full time.
• The safeguarding service will not be significantly impacted;
the volume of work completed will remain the same albeit provided
by two staff members.
