The business case to refurbish Ysgol Bryn
Onnen was approved by Cabinet and Welsh Government in 2021.
The pre-construction phase was put on hold at the end of RIBA stage
2, concept design due to rising costs across several
projects.
The project remains the next priority for the council in the
Strategic Outline Programme and has been approved by the Council
and Welsh Government.
An up-to-date cost plan estimates the total project cost is now
£7.046m and the cost to proceed through the next phase to
obtain tendered costs is £678k. Any cost will be value
engineered to ensure best value and ensure the cost is
managed.
The tendered cost will be available by May 2026 and presented to
Cabinet to approve progress to the construction phase.
