Content
• Over the past year the EWS has had
varying capacity. This has largely been attributed to long term
sickness.
• In September 2025 one core funded member of staff (0.46 FTE)
decided to leave.
• In August 2025 a grant funded post role (1.0 FTE) of
Attendance Officer ended.
• Following 2 failed attempts to recruit a new EHE officer an
EWO taken on as maternity cover has agreed to take on the EHE role
(this is a grant funded role).
• There remains, currently, £77k of grant funding that
is available to use plus additional reserves in the core EWS budget
as a result of a long-term illness saving.
• The Head of Learning and Achievement is requesting that the
grant funded savings and vacant post savings are used to create an
additional fixed term seconded 1.0 FTE EWO until the end of July
2026. The proposal is that the current vacant 0.46 FTE EWO is held
as vacant until August 2026.
