Content
County Childcare Padre Pio and County
Childcare St Davids both submitted tender applications to provide
Flying Start Childcare on the 31 October 2025.
There are two parts to the application process, the scoring using a
matrix on the evidence provided by Early Years Management. We would
normally expect a childcare setting to receive a minimum score of
60%. The Early Years Childcare Team will also routinely undertake
an ITERs 3 observation on settings we are working with. For Flying
Start settings we expect them to score a minimum of 3.
These applications were scored as follows:
County Childcare Padre Pio 67%
County Childcare St Davids Count Childcare 67%
As both settings are new (Padre Pio hasn’t yet opened), we
haven’t carried out an ITERs 3 observation yet. This will be
done in the new term.
Both settings are run by the same management team that provide
Flying Start Childcare places at Abersychan, Penygarn, George
Street and Pontymoile Under 5’s settings.
