To seek approval from the Strategic Director
of Children and Family Services, in consultation with the Executive
Member for Children, Families and Education, to appoint a main
contractor to construct a new 3G floodlit pitch at Blaenavon
Heritage VC Primary School.

£200,000 from the Members’ Choice Reserve was
previously allocated for a 3G pitch to be developed in the
Blaenavon area, by resurfacing the existing MUGA at Blaenavon
Heritage VC Primary School, thus making it suitable for school and
community use.

The design, tender specification and construction are being managed
by Economy & Place’s Property Services team on
Education’s behalf.

Ardal Procurement has led on the procurement activity.

The works have been tendered through the council’s General
Building and Electrical Maintenance framework and the contract now
needs to be awarded.

Tenders have been evaluated and the proposed successful tender is
within the agreed budget.
