RESOLVED to
endorse the launch of the final 8-week SPD consultation for the
accompanying ‘Uttlesford Design Code’ document, which will then enable the
adoption as an SPD, and ultimately the use by the LPA as a material planning
consideration.

 

Reasons for the decision

The Uttlesford Design Code is a practical and useable guide
for all parties involved in the design and planning of development in
Uttlesford. It will set out a series of rules and guidelines that, when followed,
will combine to ensure that all proposals are designed and built to the highest
quality expected by Uttlesford District Council. These must be taken into
account in any planning application to ensure a consistent and high level of
design and quality across the district.
