Decision
RESOLVED: That Cabinet
- Approves the updated waste and street cleansing vehicle selection and procurement policy, which includes the outlined procurement approach (Appendix 1), and authorises the Director of Housing and Environment in consultation with the relevant Cabinet member to make minor amendments.
- Approves considering using Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO), instead of mineral diesel, in the waste and street cleansing fleet, to better meet the de-carbonisation aspirations of the Council. The implementation of the decision is subject to contract viability and approval through the budget setting process for 2027/28.
- Notes the Director of Housing and Environment will undertake the assessment of the financial and contractual viability as part of the budget setting process for 2027/28.
