Purpose

To approve the procurement approach for replacing the Shared Professional Services Contract (SPSC)

That Cabinet

1)    Authorises the Executive Director for Communities, in consultation with the Portfolio Holder for Transport and Planning, to commence a procurement process, adopting a delivery model which best meets the Council’s needs, for the provision of Highways, Transport and Infrastructure Professional Services for a 4 year period, with any new arrangements to commence in 2027 following expiry of the current Professional Services Contract;

2)    Authorises the Executive Director for Communities to award the contract(s) for the provision of Highways, Transport and Infrastructure Professional Services and enter into all necessary agreements on terms and conditions acceptable to the Executive Director for Resources; and

3)    Authorises the Executive Director for Communities to enter into all necessary agreement(s) with Coventry City Council, Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council (and any other Authority wishing to join) in relation to the joint procurement of the contract(s) on terms and conditions acceptable to the Executive Director for Resources.
