Purpose

1.The total cost to extend agency staff to the
end of the financial year is £217,600. The current staffing
budget has been utilised by existing permanent staff as well as the
cost of agency cover to date.
2.An estimated cost of £240,000 to fund the 4 Inquires. There
are no funds reserved for defending appeals in the annual budget at
this time. Lack of correct representation increases the risk of the
appeal being allowed and having costs awarded against the
Council.

2.1    A supplementary

staff to 31/03/2024 to be funded from the MTFP risk
reserve.
 
 2.2   A
supplementary estimate of £240,000 to cover the costs
professional representation at forthcoming Public Inquiries to be
funded from the MTFP risk reserve.
