Purpose
1.
The Community Asset Transfer Policy (CAT) was
adopted by the Council on 11th June 2024 to ensure a
transparent and consistent approach to requests for Community Asset
Transfer. The Council is guided by this policy when considering
expressions of interest for a transfer of a community asset owned,
or under the stewardship of the Council, to a suitable Voluntary or
Community Organisation (VCO).
2.
Farnham Town Council (FTC) have requested the
transfer of the Morley Road Recreation Ground, Farnham, under the
terms of the CAT Policy.
3.
This report sets out the details of the requested
transfer and the potential issues raised by the proposed
transfer.
Content
RESOLVED
that:
1.
The freehold transfer of the Morley Road Recreation
Ground, to Farnham Town Council (FTC) in accordance with the terms
set out in Appendix 1 to this report, with detailed terms to be
determined at the officer’s discretion as set out in 2.1.2 is
APPROVED.
2.
Delegated authority to the Joint Assistant Director
for Assets and Property, in consultation with the Portfolio Holder
and Joint Strategic Director for Finance and Resources, to
negotiate the terms for a transfer of the Morley Road Recreation
Ground, at best consideration and enter into all relevant legal
documentation required to complete the transfer is
AGREED.
