Decision

RESOLVED: that

1)               An 8-year extension to the current Waste Collection and Street Cleansing Contract with an option of a contract break clause at the end of year 4 as set out in section 11.1 be approved.

2)               The procure of a new fleet of vehicles to deliver the contract for a maximum sum of £9.0M be approved.

3)               The Joint Strategic Director – Housing & Communities (in consultation with the Executive Portfolio Holder Environment & Sustainability) was authorised to agree a revised street cleansing specification within the terms of the contract.

4)               The decisions at (1), (2) and (3) should not be implemented unless and until the Council has approved the addition of £9.0M to the capital programme for the procurement of the vehicle fleet, and West Surrey Council has given its consent under (6) below be approved.

The Executive recommends to Council:-

5)               That £9.0M be added to the capital programme for the procurement of a vehicle fleet as set out in Section 5.

The Executive recommends to West Surrey Council:-

6)               That consent be given under the s24 Direction to enter into a contract for the provision of a vehicle fleet as set out in Section 5.
