Full council record

Decision

Rowan House (also known as unit G) is occupied under two leases that make up one plot. One lease was granted in 1983 and the second one in 1985. There is a footpath that runs alongside the property which forms part of the Weyside Greenway, a cycle route across Farnham.
Terms have been agreed with the tenant of Rowan House to surrender part of both leases, which form a strip of land on the western boundary. This strip of land will be combined with the existing footpath to make a wider, safer path for pedestrians and cyclists to use.
As there are two leases there will be two deeds of surrender.

Reasons for the decision

Completion of these deeds of surrender will allow the Weyside Greenway project to progress which is hugely beneficial to the borough.

Alternative options considered

No viable alternative. Not progressing this will mean Weyside Greenway cannot progress.
