About

When planning applications or enforcement matters are referred to committee for determination it is the council’s Planning Committee that will make the decision.   The committee has 11 Members and membership of this committee has to be politically balanced, i.e. in proportion to the number of members of each political group on the Full Council.   The committee usually meets every 4 weeks on a Wednesday at 6:30pm.  All meetings are open to the public who have the right to ask questions by following the council’s ‘Public Questions Procedure’.  Applicants or supporters of planning applications, objectors and local councils may also speak on individual planning applications.

Find out more about public participation at committee meetings.   The Terms of Reference can be viewed within the Constitution.
