and voluntary controlled schools annually to ensure compliance with
the School Admissions Code (2021) The reductions in PAN are to
ensure that schools are supported when facing falling pupil numbers
due to a drop in the primary school population. The addition of the
staff criterion is to ensure that schools are able to recruit and
retain good staff by introducing a level of priority for children
of staff. To ensure the admissions arrangements overall reflect the
current position and are lawful.
