RESOLVED: Cabinet;

a)    Approved the extension of the Council’s
existing insurance policies (detailed in Appendix A) for 12 months
to 31 March 2027 .

b)    Approved the disaggregation of the listed
insurances (Appendix A) from the main programme for the reasons
stated to ensure appropriate arrangements to procure these policies
separately effective from 1 April 2026 are put in place.

c)     Approved the tender of the extended insurance
contracts to take effect from 1 April 2027.
 
REASONS RESOLVED:

1.     The
Council’s corporate insurance programme policies expire on 31
March 2026, and therefore Cabinet approval is sought to look to
extend current contracts for 12 months to ensure uninterrupted
insurance cover and protection

2.     This will enable further development of the
Council’s asset information in preparation for the 2027
tender, pre work commencing in 2026. This approach allows
sufficient time to enhance property information, maximising the
potential for competitive quotations and favourable
terms.

3.     To
recommend the disaggregation of specific policies from the main
corporate programme to enable separate procurement processes to
take place to place these contracts with effect from 1 April
2026.
