RESOLVED: Cabinet
considered the Family Help Strategy and approved its adoption and
implementation.
 
REASONS
RESOLVED:
The recommended
course of action aligned with national and local strategic
priorities, supports transformation outcomes, and enables earlier,
joined-up support for families. It is the most effective way to
deliver improved outcomes and reduce demand for statutory
services.  
 
ALTERNATIVE
OPTIONS:
The Strategy
aligns with the UK national agenda for family help, driven by the
Families First Partnership Programme which is focussed on
transforming children's social care to provide early intervention
and integrated support through multi-agency Family Hubs and Family
Help services. Failure to approve the strategy will make it harder
to support and enable a unified Family Help system.
