RESOLVED: Cabinet;
 

a)             
Approved the procurement of a carer support contract
for the provision of support services for unpaid carers in
accordance with the Contract Procedure Rules.

b)             
Approved a proposed contract term of 3 years with an
option to extend by up to 2 years resulting in a maximum contract
length of 5 years.

c)              
Delegated authority to the Executive Director of
People Services and the Chief Finance Officer (S151), in
consultation with legal services and procurement to take any
actions necessary to ensure a successful procurement.
 
REASONS RESOLVED:

WNC to meet its statutory duties under the Care Act
2014
·      
Timely conclusion of the procurement via delegated
authority to award
 
ALTERNATE OPTIONS:
The current contract led by NNC
is due to end at the end of September 2024. A 6-month waiver was
put in place to allow time for the strategy to be published and
separate models for NNC and WNC to be developed. The priorities set
out in the strategy have guided the development of a new carer
support service specification, specifically aimed to meet the needs
of the carers in West Northamptonshire.
