RESOLVED: Cabinet approved the Affordable Homes Delivery Plan, subject to
delegating final changes to the Director of Communities &
Opportunities in consultation with the Executive Director for
Finance, the Leader of the Council and the Portfolio Holder for
Housing ahead of its launch at the proposed Summit
event.
 
REASONS RESOLVED:
·      
To provide additional affordable homes to meet
housing need.
·      
To accord with the adopted Housing Strategy 2022-25
of the Council
·      
The Council will receive the benefit of increased
income in the form of council tax revenue and New Homes Bonus if
additional affordable homes are delivered through the proposals in
the plan. Additional affordable homes will also assist reduce
expenditure and/or avoid additional spend on temporary
accommodation as homeless households should be able to be rehoused
more quickly.
