The Chief Executive approved the acquisition of Arriva Group properties at Wheldon Road, Castleford, Mill Street East, Dewsbury, Swallow Street, Heckmondwike, and Wakefield Bus Station on 20/08/2026. This decision included approval of the final price for the negotiated agreement and delegation of the approval to proceed to the Transport Capital Programme Director. The decision also approved the commitment of ongoing revenue costs for the maintenance and running of Wakefield Bus Station.

The Combined Authority Board approved amendments to its constitutional arrangements on 25 June 2026. These amendments included the addition of Article 15 on Mayoral Commissioners and major revisions to Part 4.8 (Financial Regulations), Article 3 (Membership), Article 4 (The Mayor), Article 8 (Overview and Scrutiny), Article 10 (The Council of the West Yorkshire Business Board), Article 11 (Joint Arrangements & Partnership Working), Article 14 (Finance, Contracts and Legal Matters), Part 3 Section 2.1 (Non-Mayoral Functions–Overview), Part 3 Section 3.1.1 (Mayoral General Functions), Part 4.1 (Procedure Standing Orders), Part 4.5 (Budget and Policy Procedure Rules), and Part 4.6 (Scrutiny Standing Orders). The Board also approved the removal of Part 4.9 (Private Sector Recruitment) and Part 2.2 (Non-Mayoral Functions reserved to the Combined Authority). Delegations were made to the Assistant Director Legal, Governance & Compliance for consequential amendments and formatting changes.

The Interim Executive Director for Transport approved the commencement of a competitive procurement process for Round Two West Yorkshire Combined Authority Bus Franchising contracts on 1/7/26. This approval includes the right to procure, award, and enter into contracts with successful suppliers.
