Purpose

The Combined Authority has been engaging in commercial and legal negotiations with Munroe K Luxembourg (MKL), Network Rail and other interested parties to facilitate the remobilisation of works at the White Rose railway station after the project stalled in Spring 2024.
An agreed position has now been reached by all parties; it has been determined that the appropriate way forward is for the Combined Authority to purchase the Station and other nearby land from MKL, to unlock this project and enable the progression of works. Approvals have been obtained to progress the purchase of the land for the above noted value.

Decision

The decision to purchase the land was taken by Combined
Authority in May 2025.
Delegations in relation to any further required approvals in respect of the land deal were made to the Chief Executive Officer.
