To approve the Unilateral Undertaking Side Agreement for the transfer of the Off-site Play Area Contribution and Sports Contribution to Worton Parish Council

Reasons for the decision

The Parish Council wish to manage the funds directly. The Unilateral Undertaking allows the Off-site Play Area Contribution towards upgrading the existing play area located adjacent to the Development and the Sports Contribution towards Sandleaze Playing Field.

Approving the transfer of these contributions will reduce the administrative burden on Wiltshire Council.

The projects fit with the terms of the Unilateral Undertaking and transferring the funds is in line with Wiltshire Council’s Localism agenda and associated devolution of power and responsibility.

The only other option considered is for Wiltshire Council to hold and control the funding. This causes cash flow issues for the Parish Council.
