Purpose

1.    To consider the comments received following the formal advertisement of a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO hereafter) proposing the introduction of a 30mph speed restriction on Stourton Lane (C55), Stourton.

2.    To recommend proceeding with the introduction of the TRO as advertised.

I approve that:

(i)  The proposals be implemented as advertised.

(ii)  The objectors be advised accordingly.

This decision was published on 22 April 2026 and will come into force on 30 April 2026.

Reasons for the decision

The Council’s proposals are supported by the elected Wiltshire Council Member, Stourton with Gasper Parish Council and the majority of correspondents who responded during the consultation period.

The proposals are in accordance with Priorities 2, 5 and 7 of the Council’s Business Plan.

Alternative options considered

To:

(i)    Implement the proposed TRO as advertised.

(ii)  Amend the proposed TRO in consideration of the comments received

(iii)Abandon the proposals.
