Purpose

            To:

(i)             Consider objections to the advertised proposals for an extended 40mph speed limit at A4 Manton, Marlborough.

(ii)            Recommend the making of the Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) for the advertised proposal.

Decision

I approve that:

(i)    The proposals be implemented as advertised.

(ii)   The objectors be advised accordingly.

This decision was published on 13 August 2024 and will come into force on 21 August 2024.             

Reasons for the decision

The proposal is intended to improve road and pedestrian safety and to reduce concerns of safety expressed by Marlborough Town Council.

The proposal has the support of the locally elected members, both Wiltshire Council and Marlborough Town Council, Local Highway Footway Improvement Group and Area Board. 

The comments set out in Appendix 2 on the objections received indicate that it is considered appropriate to introduce the scheme.

To:

(i)       Implement the proposals as advertised.

(ii)       Not implement the proposals.
