Purpose

This purpose of this report is
to inform the Director of Adults, Health and Strategic
Commissioning of the results of the competitive procurement
exercise for a new Direct Payment Support Service contract and seek
approval to award the contract to Provider C. The Director of
Adults, Health and Strategic Commissioning has been given delegated
authority by Adult Social Care and Public Health committee to make
the contract award.
 
Provider information about all
the submitted bids can be found in Appendix 1 (EXEMPT). 
 
The new service will contribute
to Wirral’s visions outlined within the Wirral Council Plan
and All Age Disability Strategy in areas such as improving the
health and wellbeing of residents, promoting independent lives and
gaining employment and economic wellbeing.
 

Decision

To approve the award
of a Direct Payment Support Service contract to Provider C whose
bid was assessed as the most economically advantageous tender
(MEAT). The contract will be for two years from 13th January 2025,
with an option to extend for one further year. The total value of
the contract is £661,251.
