Purpose
This report seeks approval for the
publication of the Council’s statutory Monitoring Report and
associated documents to report on the impact of land use planning
policies and the preparation of local plans and other
planning-related documents during 2022/23.
The publication of the
Monitoring Report is consistent with the delivery of an efficient,
effective and accessible Council, as set out in Wirral Working
Together: A Council Plan for 2023-2037, and with providing ongoing
monitoring for delivery under other themes including Promoting
independence and healthier lives, People focused regeneration and
Protect our environment.
Decision
Resolved: That the Monitoring Report for
2022/23and its accompanying
background documents and data tables be approved for
publication.
Reasons for the decision
1.1
The proposals within the report enable the Council
to meet the statutory requirements of the Planning and Compulsory
Purchase Act 2004, as amended and the Town and
Country Planning Local Planning England Regulations 2012, as
amended.
1.2
In particular, the recommendations enable the
Monitoring Report for 2022/23and its accompanying background
documents and data tables to be made available for public
inspection and published on the Council’s website.
Alternative options considered
2.1 There are no alternative options, as national regulations
require the publication of monitoring information, as soon as
possible after the information becomes available.
