Purpose
The
purpose of this report recommends acceptance of a tender
fromGavin
Building Services Inc. Ltd, and award of
contract for the provision of works and services
to;repair and improve Public Rights of Way,
bridleways, or other footpaths and to
assist the Council’s Highway Operational Services in
undertaking associated works on and off the adopted
highway.
The
works provided under the proposed contract is to enable the council
to meet its statutory duties under Section 41 of the Highways Act
1980 and comply with the Countryside Act 1968.
The
Wirral Plan 2021-2026 sets out the Council’s vision to secure
the best possible future for our residents, defined by the
community prosperity we create and supported by our excellent
people and services. This proposal directly supports the following
key themes within that plan:

A prosperous inclusive economy where
local people can get good jobs and achieve their aspirations;
and
·
Safe, vibrant communities where people
want to live and raise their families.
This
matter affects all Wards.

Decision
The Assistant
Director for Highways and Infrastructure Services has, in
conjunction with the Section 151 Officer, decided to accept a
tender from Gavin Building Services Inc Ltd and approve the award
of the contract for Public Rights of Way and Associated
Works.
