Decision
The Assistant Director of Property and
Investment has approved that Wernick Hire Ltd (Company Number
00633778) be directly awarded a contract to the value of
£374,766.80 via the Fusion 21 Framework for Refurbishment,
Construction, New Build and Modular Building Framework – Lot
3 to undertake installation of 2 temporary modular buildings with
classrooms and storeroom at Joseph Paxton Campus, Park Road North,
Birkenhead CH41 0DD
Reasons for the decision
A detailed Specification of requirements has
been received from Joseph Paxton Campus, Park Road North,
Birkenhead, to accommodate students within the Home and Continuing
Education Service (HCES), who have moved from a temporary location
at Pilgrim Street, Birkenhead.
Refurbishment of the former part of the building occupied by the
school Library Service that has been planned to accommodate the
students has been delayed and would not be completed before the
start of the new academic year 2025/26.
In this instance a direct award to Wrenick Hire Ltd via the Fusion
21 Framework for Refurbishment, Construction, New Build and Modular
Building Framework – Lot 3 was awarded and will be
underpinned by a formal contract which will be drawn up by the
Council’s legal team in due course.
Alternative options considered
To do nothing would leave the students within
HCES without a place for their educational needs.
