Purpose

Wirral Council Trading Standards Service is a
regulator for the purposes of enforcing the Environmental
Protection (Single-Use Vapes) (England) Regulations 2024. As a
regulator Wirral the Council is required to publish guidance on our
use of the fixed monetary penalties (fines), notices and other
sanctions that can be imposed by the Council for any criminal
offences committed by not complying with the requirements of the
said Regulations.

Decision

RESOLVED –
That the Tourism Communities, Culture and Leisure Committee
recommends to approve the Trading Standards Enforcement Policy and
associated additional Civil Sanctions as contained within appendix
1 of the report.
