Resolved

That (i)   the update on
Local Government Reorganisation provided in the report be noted;
and

        (ii) the Chief
Executive be authorised (in conjunction with the Leader of the
Council and the Director of Legal Services and Democratic Services)
to take all necessary steps required by the Council to facilitate
the smooth establishment of the shadow authority including, if
deemed appropriate, the establishment of informal joint committee
arrangements, following the announcement of the Government’s
decision on the number and geographic coverage of new unitary
authorities in Surrey and prior to the coming into force of the
Structural Changes Order.
