Purpose

To agree to the Council accepting Government Local Authority Housing Fund (LAHF) Round 4 grant and participating in the scheme.

Decision

The Executive Resolved

That  (i)    the Local Authority Housing Fund (LAHF) Round 4 grant be accepted;

          (ii)   the Strategic Director – People and Communities be authorised to sign the Memorandum of Understanding for LAHF Round 4;

          (iii)  Section 106 contributions for affordable housing delivery, already approved in the Capital Programme 2026/27, be applied as match funding towards property acquisitions; and

          (iv)  the Strategic Director – People and Communities, in consultation with the Portfolio Holder for Housing, be authorised to take such decisions as may be necessary to facilitate the delivery of the LAHF homes in accordance with the grant conditions, including agreeing the properties to be acquired under the scheme.

Reason: To enable the Council to provide good quality, temporary accommodation locally for households facing homelessness and support the resettlement of Afghan families in the Borough.
