Purpose
To update the Executive on outcomes of further
feasibility work undertaken on the future office provision for the
Council
Content
RESOLVED
that the Executive;
1)
considered the findings and outcomes from the latest
stage of feasibility work undertaken on the Council’s future
office provision, including the financial impact;
2)
agreed that having further explored options, the
options of a full refurbishment of the existing Shute End offices,
or a relocation to 28-38 Peach Street, Wokingham or the leasehold
or freehold of a building are the current viable options for future
Headquarters;
3)
agreed that Rubra 1 and 2 and the former Wokingham
library are considered not suitable and therefore are no longer
required for future office provision and be released from
consideration under the headquarters project and officers will
appraise plans for their long-term use and;
4)
noted that the timing for the next stage of work
will be influenced by receipt of further clarity on the
implications and timescales of any local government reorganisation.
Once substantive work resumes on the headquarters project, a cross
party working group will be established to support the process of
determining the best option.
