Purpose
The revenue and capital budgets for 2025/26
are set and tenants rent levels are set for
2025/26 to ensure sound finances and value for money in providing
housing services for
council tenants.
Content
RESOLVED
that the Executive approved and recommended to
Council;
1) The Housing Revenue Account
budget for 2025/26 (Appendix A),
2) That Council house dwelling
rents be increased by up to 2.7% effective from 7th April 2025 in
line with the council’s Rent Setting Policy that was approved
by Executive on 26th October 2023,
3) That garage rents be
increased by 2.7% with effect from April 2025,
4) That Shared Equity Rents be
increased by 2.7% with effect from April 2025,
5) That Tenant Service Charges
be increased over three years to achieve full cost recovery
effective by April 2026,
6) The Housing Major Repairs
(capital) programme for 2025/26 as set out in
Appendix B and
7) Sheltered room guest charges
for 2025/26 at £15.00 per night per room.
