Purpose

To seek agreement to the proposed delivery
model for a new community centre in Arborfield

Content

RESOLVED
that the Executive:
 

1.    
Approved the proposed delivery model for the new
Community Centre at Arborfield Green, including the Council taking
on the responsibility for the planning, design and construction of
the community centre and that the Council acquire the freehold of
the site for the Community Centre and the capital funding
contribution from the Defence Infrastructure Organisation
(DIO),
 

2.    
delegated to the Director of Resources and Assets,
in consultation with the Leader and the Executive Member for
Resident Services, Inclusion and Fighting Poverty to complete the
development agreement with the Defence Infrastructure Organisation
(DIO) for the delivery model for the new Community Centre, ensuring
Best Value for the Council,
 

3.    
approved the addition of a capital budget equal to
the capital contribution from the Defence Infrastructure
Organisation (DIO) into the Medium Term Financial Plan for the year
2026-2027, for the delivery of the new Community Centre
and,
 

4.    
approved the commencement of the process to identify
a preferred operator for the new Community Centre, to supersede the
previous Executive approval in September 2019 of the Finchampstead
Baptist Church as the preferred operator.
