Purpose
To seek approval for prescribed alterations to
create new resourced SEND provision at maintained schools serving
the primary education phase in the Wokingham Borough
area.
Content
RESOLVED
that the Executive approved the proposals
for:
a) a 12-place SEND (Special
Education Needs and Disabilities) Unit for pupils with Autism and
Speech, Language and Communication Needs at the Walter Infant
School in Wokingham;
b) a 16-place SEND (Special
Education Needs and Disabilities) Unit for pupils with Autism and
Speech, Language and Communication Needs at the St Paul’s
Church of England Voluntary Controlled Junior School in Wokingham;
and
c) a 12-place SEND (Special
Education Needs and Disabilities) Unit for pupils with Social,
Emotional and Mental Health needs at the Winnersh Primary School in
Winnersh.
d) noted that the capital works
associated with these three schemes form an integral component of
the SEND Sufficiency Statement and are already allowed for within
the 2025/26 MTFP, with a total value of £2,020,000 across the
three projects.
