Net Zero Neighbourhood Demonstrator Funding
February 11, 2025 Cabinet Member for Resources (Cabinet member) Approved View on council websiteFull council record
Purpose
The City of Wolverhampton is one of six Local
Authorities participating in Project CAMPOS, managed by Energy
Capital, a part of the West Midlands Combined Authority. This
programme supports net-zero refurbishment and placemaking in
deprived communities with diverse tenure, e.g. private
rental.
Following an initial scoping phase in 2022 that led to the
selection of parts of Graiseley Ward as a suitable pilot area and
the production of an outline framework by Arup, WMCA - through the
CAMPOS programme - has now secured further funding from Innovate UK
for the development phase. It is anticipated that CWC could draw
down up to £450,000 over a two-year period to spend on an
agreed package of measures, including staff resources, consultation
and building assessments.
At the end of the two year period, CWC would be expected to have a
fully-developed and costed package of measures that could be put
out to funders for future implementation.
Delegated approval is required to accept the funding and create
appropriate supplementary budget.
