Purpose

To present background research to help inform
the development of the motion for Council to recognise the armed
forces community a locally protected characteristic, in the same
way that young people with experience of care have been
recognised.

Content

That Council be recommended to approve:

1.   
The motion contained in Appendix 2 to the report, to recognise the
Armed Forces Community with the same consideration and support as
if they were a protected characteristic under the Equality Act
2010, in the same way that people with care experience have
previously been recognised by the City of Wolverhampton
Council.
