Purpose

CWC is the lead authority for providing Urban
Traffic Control (UTC) services across the Black Country. The
provision of these services is covered by Service Level Agreements
(SLA’s) with Walsall Council, Dudley Metropolitan Borough
Council, Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council and West Midlands
Metro.
This new contract is procured to deliver the continued maintenance
operation for Intelligent Transport Systems and associated
equipment across the Black Country’s highway network.
Additionally provision has been included to allow for the expansion
of these systems and associated equipment in support of future
projects and network improvements.

Approved the award of the contract
for the Supply, Installation and Maintenance of Intelligent
Transport Systems to Swarco UK &
Ireland Ltd of Hazelwood House, Lime Tree Way, Chineham Business
Park, Basingstoke RG24 8WZ for an initial period of five (5) years
from the 1 May 2023 until the 30 April 2028 with an initial
contract value of £24,625,000 with an option to extend for a
further period of two (2) years to the 30 April 2030 and an overall
contract value of £34,475,000.
